When Women Pray 2014…

“Fearfully and Wonderfully Made”

The 5th Annual When Women Pray… was held on Saturday, October 18th, 2014 from 8:00 am – 1:00 pm at St. Thomas More Catholic Parish in Irvine.

Our theme for the day, “fearfully and wonderfully made” (Psalm 139:14), focused on each woman’s inherent value as a daughter of the King, loved and created with purpose.

2014 Featured Speaker: Tammy Evevard

Internationally recognized speaker and author Tammy Evevard has been speaking for twenty-five years in to teens, women, youth ministers and parish missions about the amazing love God has for us. Tammy is a dynamic and passionate speaker who captures audiences with her enthusiastic style, humor and storytelling.

Through her own experiences Tammy shares a journey of love, laughter, disappointments and sorrow with a constant thread of faith sewn through the tapestry of many colors that make up our lives.

There are many things that make up our lives and Tammy has found that these things are what make us who we are – the good, the bad and everything in between. Tammy has found that through it all there is a grace that can only come from the hand of God.

In her book, Becoming (the woman God made you to be), Tammy addresses the issues women face as we struggle to find our true identity as a daughter of the King.  Becoming calls us to a greater self-confidence, a deeper appreciation of our gifts and how to use them, and a clearer understanding of what it means to be an authentic, spiritually faithful woman in today’s culture.

Tammy also currently serves as Director of Development with Prison Fellowship Ministries (www.pfm.org)

Fearfully & Wonderfully Made

“St. John Paul II called women ‘the crown of creation’. Made in God’s image and likeness, an imprint that cannot be shaken is on our very being. Focusing on the most central of truths; that we are God’s handiwork, made for good purpose (Ephesians 2:10). The culture of today tries to diminish that in women’s lives by encouraging us to focus on the exterior. The truth that needs to be spoken to each of our hearts is that there is a God who made us, who loves us as we are and calls us to find joy in the place He has called us to.” – Tammy Evevard
